The PCP WISE consortium is proud to announce the launch of the PCP WISE Academy, developed and hosted by project partner University of Twente. This new training hub provides a comprehensive set of learning resources designed to strengthen the skills of both providers of Earth Observation (EO)-based water and climate services and the end-users who rely on these services for informed decision-making.

Built as an integral component of the PCP WISE project, the Academy supports capacity building across Europe and beyond through a blended learning approach that combines self-paced online courses with interactive workshops. Its goal is to foster a shared understanding of climate risks and to promote the effective use of EO technologies in water management and climate adaptation.

A Curriculum Aligned with Today’s Key Water Challenges

The Academy’s curriculum mirrors the major water-related crises addressed by PCP WISE. Learners can access four main courses focused on:

An additional module on Ground Water Model: MODFLOW complements these core topics.

Each unit includes practical demonstrations of EO applications, highlighting the role of digital twin technologies where relevant.

Training for Both Decision-Makers and Technical Experts

To meet the needs of different stakeholders, the PCP WISE Academy offers two training levels:

  • Introductory Level – providing essential concepts and illustrating real-world benefits for policy-makers, practitioners, and other end-users.

  • Technical Level – delivering advanced methods, tools, and insights tailored to EO service developers and technical specialists.
