PROTECT is a Horizon Europe coordination and support action (CSA) which served as the preparatory action of PCP WISE. PROTECT established a community of over 200 public buyers and suppliers, who are key target stakeholders in the implementation of PCP WISE. PCP WISE builds upon the outcomes, shared challenges, and synergies identified by the PROTECT. Focused on five key application domains PROTECT highlighted the necessity for new solutions to tackle complex challenges like floods, fires, and resilient infrastructure.

SPACE4Cities is a Horizon Europe funded Pre-Commercial Procurement project that aims to procure replicable solutions, via smart use of European satellite data, for better and more dynamic management of public space, green areas, transport infrastructure and city maintenance—and the cities’ overall resilience.

VALORADA is a project funded by the European Commission in the framework of the HORIZON EUROPE programme that aims to empower European regions and cities to steer the upcoming societal transformation towards sustainable and climate-resilient development. The VALORADA project is in line with the EU’s Adaptation Mission aiming at supporting the transformation of 150 European regions to become sustainable and climate-resilient by 2030.

MIRACA (Multi-Hazard Infrastructure Resilience Assessment and Climate Adaptation) is a pioneering project aimed at empowering public authorities and critical infrastructure (CI) manages to tackle climate change-induced risks effectively. Led by a consortium of European partners spanning research institutions, universities, and private companies, MIRACA integrates expertise in climate science, engineering, economics, and risk analysis. Through its holistic approach, MIRACA aims to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure to climate change impacts.

TransformAr is an EU-funded project aimed to develop and demonstrate solutions and pathways to achieve rapid and far-reaching transformational adaptation (TA) across the EU. The project will combine cross-sectoral and multi-scale innovation packages, as the combination of solutions and pathways, to support regions and communities in their societal transformation towards climate change resilience.

ARSINOE is an EU-funded project aimed at creating climate resilient-regions through systemic solutions and innovations. ARSINOE will shape the pathways to resilience by bringing together the Systems Innovation Approach (SIA) and the Climate Innovation Window (CIW) to build an ecosystem for climate change adaptation solutions. This approach is showcased in nine demonstrators, as a proof-of-concept with regards to its applicability, replicability, potential and efficacy.

RESIST is a five-year EU-funded project that has emerged from the need to make regions more resilient to climate change. The project will adopt a new practical framework in which climate adaptation pathways will be tested in four leading regions of the European Union (EU): Southwest Finland, Central Denmark, Catalonia and Central Portugal. Know-how and adaptation pathways tested in the leading regions will be transferred to eight twinned regions through mutual-learning activities and immersive digital twins.

Climateurope2 is a 4.5-year Horizon Europe project coordinated by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center that works to develop standardisation procedures and recommendations for climate services, while supporting and bringing together the European climate services community. In addition, the project strives to enhance the uptake of quality-assured climate services to support adaptation and mitigation to climate change and variability.
