Briefly introduce your organisation
ISEMI is a professional platform comprising former and active police and national security officers, military personnel, and civil protection and crisis management experts from around the world, all with necessary security clearance and relevant long-term experience, primarily in combating CBRN-E threats and responding to CBRN incidents, in crime prevention, counter-terrorism, the fight against organised crime, environmental crime, trafficking in human beings, cybercrime, and drug smuggling. ISEMI also has experience in intelligence analysis, border protection, critical infrastructure protection, countering hybrid threats, rescue and emergency assistance, and health protection, likewise in the field of justice and prosecution.
Introduce the team working on PCP WISE within your organisation
Martin Kostolný (male) – graduated at the University of Žilina, (Faculty of Security Engineering, Master – Civil Security). He has 10+ years of experience in EU project management including technical contributions in the field of security and crisis management, with special focus on training and testing in the CBRNe area. He is focused on the coordination of related activities and tasks, in managing international teams of experts and networking. He contributes to trainings and educational activities of ISF-P projects (including CBRN CoE ones) as well ast to RDI works of H2020/HE projects providing perspective of responders cooperation, needs assessment, training development including implementation of these training. An important part of his experience is organizational and logistical preparation and carrying out of different types of trainings, exercises, testing and demonstrations. He is member of CBRN response team. He is PRINCE2 certified manager. He has experience in public procurement. He can speak English and his native language is Slovak. He is a holder of EU, NATO Secret level Security clearance.
Beáta Korpesio (female) – graduated at the Slovak Agricultural University, Faculty of economy and management in Nitra (2009). She has experience in EU project management and EU project implementation. She has worked more than 10 years in the field of EU projects, has experience in organising national and international workshops, seminars, trainings. She has also participated on many projects as financial manager. She is managing CBRN vocational education and training and she is member of CBRN response team. She participates at various H2020/HE projects, ISF-P, UCPM, EUROPOL, as well as those under EU CBRN CoE Initiative. She can fluently speak English, understands German. Her native language is Slovak. She is PRINCE2 certified manager.
What is your organisation’s role in the project? What unique contribution does it bring to PCP WISE?
Role of ISEMI is to provide perspective of end-user, especially related to their requirements linked to project scenarios and to testing of technologies developed in the project.
To what extent do you think PCP WISE will contribute to enhance Europe’s ability to adapt to and mitigate the effect of climate change?
PCP WISE represents potential to enhance Europe’s ability to adapt to and mitigate the effect of climate change. Exact contribution depends on technical achievements and testing results.
To what extent do you think Environmental Observation (EO) and Innovation Procurement (IP) can help develop innovative solutions for water management and climate resilience across Europe?
It is important to consider each innovative approach and/or cutting-edge technology for improvement of climate resilience and civil protection in general. The same with the procedures enabling these activities. Innovation Procurement is one of the effective one, and it is desirable to use this option as well.
