PCP WISE is being showcased at INTERSCHUTZ 2026, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for fire and rescue services, emergency response, and civil protection. The event takes place from 1 to 6 June 2026 in Hanover, Germany, bringing together key stakeholders from across the public safety, civil protection, and innovation ecosystems.

As part of its research activities, the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) is presenting PCP WISE at Hall 17, Booth B42, highlighting the project’s contribution to fostering innovation in the field of civil protection and emergency response.

During a presentation at the THW booth, Olga Horn discussed the role of Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) in addressing the so-called “valley of death” of innovation – the critical gap between research and market deployment that often prevents promising solutions from reaching end users. She also shared initial insights from the PCP WISE project and its approach to supporting the development of innovative solutions for civil protection authorities.

The presence of PCP WISE at INTERSCHUTZ 2026 provides an important opportunity to engage with practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and industry representatives, while raising awareness of how innovation procurement can help accelerate the development and uptake of technologies addressing public-sector challenges.

Visitors attending INTERSCHUTZ 2026 are invited to stop by Hall 17, Booth B42 to learn more about PCP WISE and discuss the project’s objectives and activities with the team.

We would like to thank THW and Olga Horn for showcasing PCP WISE at this important international event and for contributing to the dialogue on innovation, procurement, and the future of civil protection.
