PCP WISE was proud to be featured at the 7th European Climate Change Adaptation (ECCA) Conference, held in Rimini, Italy, and online from 16–18 June 2025. The event brought together a diverse community of researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and innovators working at the forefront of climate adaptation across Europe.
On 17 June, PCP WISE participated in the session “Upscaling climate services: sharing approaches and insights”, organised by the Climate Services Working Group under the Mission Implementation Platform for Adaptation (MIP4Adapt).
This interdisciplinary session tackled the key challenges in scaling up climate services — moving from promising pilots to widespread, sustainable application. It featured insights from public bodies, private enterprises, and third-sector actors working to mainstream climate resilience solutions.
Melissa Campagno of G.A.C. Group represented PCP WISE during the session, presenting on how Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) can serve as a powerful mechanism to accelerate innovation in climate adaptation. Her presentation highlighted how PCP WISE is fostering tailored, EO-driven solutions for water management and climate resilience, and how the PCP approach helps bridge the critical gap between research and practical, scalable implementation.
The session underscored the importance of strategic procurement in enabling regions to adopt user-focused innovations that build real-world adaptive capacity — aligning well with the mission and vision of PCP WISE.
We thank the organisers of ECCA 2025 and the MIP4Adapt platform for the opportunity to share our work, connect with partners, and help shape the future of climate services in Europe.
